Books I Recommend:
If you need only one book to understand endurance sports from performance perspective, it would be Inigo's Endurance Training. The book will take a long time for you to finish but it will give you a competitive edge over many others certainly.
A good book for coaches to learn ABC of coaching before they get started with their trainees. Dr Daniels has beautifully suggested training paces which come pretty handy even for less experienced runners. It gets complicated at times with too many tables but a great book nonetheless.
Advanced Marathoning by Pete Pfitzinger and Scott Douglas both of whom have been on the podcast earlier. If you are chasing a sub3, this could be the book for you. The book systematically teaches you to run faster, and farther.
